La La La: The Fabulous “400” begins, the top musical artists of all time…

Submitted by WERZOMBIES PRESS

We have ZERO doubt that this list, which will take over three months to go through, will indeed make for some serious controversy.

It will include artists of all genres and will either not include some popular ‘talents’ or rank some much lower than people expect and others a wee bit higher.

How do we choose these artists and rank then?

Well the criteria did not include who we were told we should like or who did more marketing. There will be no Brittanies, Christinas, or Boy Bands. There will be no American Idols or fabricated glam bands who are barely serviceable in live performances.

We will rank according to first and foremost, talent. We judge lyrics, vocalization, and ability to play music. Then we consider influence, longevity, and cultural impact. MUSIC is MUSIC it is NOT not music.

We hope to get comments. The music styles and preferences run quite rangy here…some bands you may not have heard of and we hope you enjoy them as we do.

Now let’s kick off with #s 400-396!

#400 VAST

Why do we include them? Because when they make music it is absolutely sick. Tight. Strong.

Why could we have skipped them? A little inconsistent in their production during their better days.

Memory? Hearing the first notes on their first album and flipping out.

#399 TANTRIC

Why do we include them? Great vocals, great production values, and a strong core of talented musicians.

Why could we have skipped them? Have seriously lost the touch after a strong break out.

Memory? Realizing these guys were a large part of Days of the New and then hearing them to find out they were 10 times better.

#398 The VERVE

Why do we include them? They take chances and are gifted to the ear.

Why could we have skipped them? Vocals can tend to be a bit too British.

Memory? Oh c’mon…Reese…Ryan…Cruel Intentions!

#397 The BRAVERY

Why do we include them? They came out during that retro blast at the early part of this century and were heard…

Why could we have skipped them? Tend to sound like 1 song with 10 different lyrics, albeit all good.

Memory? Hearing An Honest Mistake in my car and nearly shitting myself.

CHECK OUT A TUNE!

#396 BLIND GUARDIAN

Why do we include them? They take chances, can play their music well, and have lasted a long time behind a strong following.

Why could we have skipped them? Well dude, they sing about songs better suited for Lord of the Rings.

Memory? Seeing them in concert and watching them pound out a two-plus-hour show. I was impressed.
