La La La! Fab 400 continues with numbers 391-395…bring it music fans!

Submitted by WERZOMBIES PRESS

We have ZERO doubt that this list, which will take over three months to go through, will indeed make for some serious controversy.

It will include artists of all genres and will either not include some popular ‘talents’ or rank some much lower than people expect and others a wee bit higher.

How do we choose these artists and rank then?

Well the criteria did not include who we were told we should like or who did more marketing. There will be no Brittanies, Christinas, or Boy Bands. There will be no American Idols or fabricated glam bands who are barely serviceable in live performances.

We will rank according to first and foremost, talent. We judge lyrics, vocalization, and ability to play music. Then we consider influence, longevity, and cultural impact. MUSIC is MUSIC it is NOT not music.

We hope to get comments. The music styles and preferences run quite rangy here…some bands you may not have heard of and we hope you enjoy them as we do.

Now let’s keep this rolling with #395-391

#395 SONATA ARCTICA

Why do we include them? Jeez, listen to them? Great riffs, talented vocals, extremely deep in their manliness. Powerful.

Why could we have skipped them? A tad bit overbearing with the lyric being too preachy at times.

Memory? Just heard the vocals and said, “I have to have that!”

#394 PAUL VAN DYK

Why do we include him? Good tunes to dance too and some really good use of melody. “For an Angel” is CLASSIC!

Why could we have skipped him? Honestly? Paul does very little to separate himself from the pack of others like him.

Memory? Taking the bus in Holland and listening to ‘Tell Me Why’

#393 GODHEAD

Why do we include them? Strong voices, good rhythm section, and a solid live band.

Why could we have skipped them? I don’t know…first album was strong, but afterward…not so much.

Memory? Ozzfest 2001 seeing these guys and saying “I love their frigging outfits!”

#392 SEVEN MARY THREE

Why do we include them? Solid, consistent, reliable, but not much by way of flash.

Why could we have skipped them? Too solid, too consistent, too reliable, lacks a ‘daring’ quality.

Memory? Driving many miles listening to a few of their albums. Good for the soul.

#391 KATE BUSH

Why do we include her? Great aggression in her difference musically, a unique voice, and lyrics are fun.

Why could we have skipped her? Almost tried TOO hard to be different. Voice could get a bit too pippy for me.

Memory? My father playing ‘Wow’ for me and I just about giggled…of course I was like seven. Thanks pops!
