La La La! A little industrial flavor added to Fab 400 countdown…#385-381!

So far so good.

Fifteen musical artists down and 385 left.

We hope more people start taking a peek at what The PRESS is offering here…a chance to broaden musical horizons and get into some serious tunes discourse with the Fabulous 400.

We have ZERO doubt that this list, which will take over three months to go through, will indeed make for some serious controversy.

It will include artists of all genres and will either not include some popular ‘talents’ or rank some much lower than people expect and others a wee bit higher.

How do we choose these artists and rank then?

Well the criteria did not include who we were told we should like or who did more marketing. There will be no Brittanies, Christinas, or Boy Bands. There will be no American Idols or fabricated glam bands who are barely serviceable in live performances.

We will rank according to first and foremost, talent. We judge lyrics, vocalization, and ability to play music. Then we consider influence, longevity, and cultural impact. MUSIC is MUSIC it is NOT not music.

We hope to get comments. The music styles and preferences run quite rangy here…some bands you may not have heard of and we hope you enjoy them as we do.

Now let’s keep this boogie-sized countdown shaking a tail feather with Numbers 385-381:

Why do we include them? Technically sound, daring in thought, and musically just a creepy band.

Why could we have skipped them?

They are very inconsistent in their sound. Sometimes I wonder if they even truly know what they want to do with their chosen path.

Memory? Hearing a particular song with a strongly foul title and a I smiled…it was so hot!

Why do we include them? They remind us of Marilyn Manson’s little brothers. Kind of fun!

Why could we have skipped them?  They remind us of Marilyn Manson’s little brothers. Petulant, jealous, and not quite as goo.

Memory? Being blown away watching them at Ozzfest 2001.

Why do we include them? So many great, great, dance tunes and one of the most motivating songs ever made (see video).

Why could we have skipped them? Sometimes they would have a top heavy album with a lot of stink bombs laying about

Memory? Taking my first boys tennis team to an away match, playing the DREAMS CD and watching all these Catholic school boys rock out.

Why do we include them? They remind us of a Lords of Acid with less talent and daring. They still can grind it out.

Why could we have skipped them?
Like mny bands, hit or miss. Two great songs followed by two shit ones.

Memory? Hearing Sin City…that is all.

#381 SITD

Why do we include them? A strong Industrial sound with a lot of heavy doses of beat.

Why could we have skipped them? God I hate watching their look live…but they still sound good.

Memory? When you first hear Snuff Machinery and you realize that they really have something to say.
